Marion – French immersion in beautiful countryside, Burgundy
Your teacher
Hi there! I’m Marion, a French teacher with a love for languages, good food, and a bit of adventure.
Born and raised in the beautiful Beaujolais region, I studied in Lyon before setting off to explore the world. I’ve lived in Portugal and Mexico, taught French in Tanzania and Jersey, and picked up a few languages along the way—so I know exactly what it’s like to learn (and sometimes struggle with!) a foreign language. I hold a DAEFLE certification and have been teaching French for over ten years, focusing on natural, immersive learning experiences.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me running through the countryside, swimming (sometimes even in freezing lakes just for fun!), practicing yoga, or getting my hands dirty in my vegetable garden. I also have a deep appreciation for natural wines and love cooking—whether it’s French classics or new flavors I’ve picked up from my travels.
Learning French with me isn’t just about grammar and vocabulary—it’s about culture, conversation, and feeling at home in the language. I’d love to help you on your journey!
Teaching style
Forget boring textbooks and endless grammar drills! My approach to teaching French is all about real-life communication and fun, immersive experiences. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, I focus on helping you speak with confidence and feel comfortable using French in everyday situations.
I believe that the best way to learn a language is by living it—which is why my lessons are interactive, personalized, and centered around your interests. We’ll chat, laugh, make mistakes (that’s part of the process!), and explore French culture along the way. Expect lots of conversation, real-world materials, and activities that make learning natural and engaging.
Of course, we won’t ignore grammar entirely—but instead of dry exercises, we’ll tackle it in a way that makes sense and helps you use it effortlessly in conversation. My goal? To help you think in French and enjoy the journey!

My stay in Ouroux in June 2025, Eastern France in the Deux-Grosnes region, with the lovely and experienced French teacher Marion was a fully immersive one beyond my expectations.
The countryside scenery was breath taking, the accommodation just perfect for my purpose, the home-cooked meals French authentic and delicious, the excursions memorable, and finally I learned more than I expected.
Most importantly, Marion taught me how to learn a language more effectively in my own time. Therefore I have no hesitation in recommending Marion Ferret to anyone serious about learning French in an authentic French setting.
