Yasmina – French immersion near the Capital of the French Alps
Your teacher
Hello, I’m Yasmina, a French teacher with over 17 years of experience, specializing in teaching French as a foreign language.
I have always been deeply passionate about languages. I speak English and Spanish, and I’ve been learning Italian for over a year now.
As a language enthusiast, I strongly believe in the power of immersion. That’s why I encouraged my daughters to take part in international exchange programs like CISV (Children’s International Summer Village) and the Rotary Youth Exchange Program (YEP) when they were younger.
I also love traveling. For me, one of the most rewarding aspects of travel is being able to communicate with locals and discover new cultures.
In terms of hobbies, I’m quite active. From ages 15 to 20, I competed in rowing and I participated in the French rowing championships. Now, I enjoy a variety of activities, including cycling, hiking, swimming, running, and cross-country skiing in the beautiful mountains surrounding Grenoble.
On weekends and evenings, my husband and I enjoy spending time with friends to go out for a drink, dining at a restaurant, seeing a play, or attending a live music festival.
I’m also a good cook, trying to use as often as I can local and seasonal ingredients. I’m always researching new, healthy recipes. My husband, who is a wine enthusiast, enjoys selecting the perfect bottle to pair with each meal.
We can’t wait to meet you! When you come to stay with us for an immersive experience, you’ll be fully immersed in the real French life all week long !
Teaching style
My teaching style is based on active and intensive interaction : one week immersion is the perfect solution for that.
The 4 language skills are developed around authentic documents on different subjects (newspaper articles, videos, podcasts, songs). This helps my students to get familiar with accents, vocabulary, and grammar structures in diverse contexts.
I pay particular attention to phonetics which is very important at different levels. Targeted exercises to improve pronunciation and intonation are excellent to speak French clearly and fluently.
I often incorporate role-playing exercises to recreate daily life situations : practice French in practical contexts is very good to become more confident. Flashcards are also a fun tool to enrich vocabulary and work on memorization interactively.
In short, my goal is to make learning French as lively and close to reality as possible, encouraging my students to practice at every opportunity. Immersion at home allows them to feel comfortable and fully engaged in their learning.
I still have one important thing to tell you :
"To have a successful immersion week your needs analysis will be perfectly defined before your arrival. We will be in contact by mail first and videoconference after.
I completely adapt the programme according to your desires, your aims :
a « sur mesure » programme".

The region
Located at the foot of the Vercors mountains, my home is in the charming village of Claix, just a few kilometers from Grenoble. Nestled between three mountain ranges — the Vercors, Chartreuse, and Belledonne — Grenoble offers a breathtaking natural setting, perfect for outdoor lovers and cultural explorers alike.
Known as the "Capital of the Alps," Grenoble is a lively city rich in history, art, and innovation. You can stroll through its historic old town, visit fascinating museums like the Musée de Grenoble (one of France’s best art museums), and take the famous "Bubbles" cable car up to the Bastille fortress for panoramic views over the city and surrounding mountains.
The Vercors Regional Natural Park offers spectacular landscapes — from deep gorges and limestone cliffs to lush forests and picturesque villages.
Gastronomy is also an essential part of the local experience. The region is famous for its cheeses such as Bleu du Vercors-Sassenage, delicious walnuts (Noix de Grenoble), traditional ravioles, and hearty mountain cuisine that reflects its Alpine heritage.
Whether you are seeking nature, culture, or culinary delights, Grenoble and its region offer a wonderful variety of experiences to enrich your immersion in the French language and lifestyle.

"The ideal immersion is here, at Yasmina’s place!
An incredible week in this warm and welcoming home, surrounded by nature yet close to amenities and the city of Grenoble.
Each day began with an excellent breakfast, homemade brioche and fresh fruit salad—a real treat!
Every morning, the lessons were perfectly organized, tailored to my level and needs.
Working a lot on phonetics with a variety of exercises for the pronunciation.
Enjoining the videos and audio recordings on interesting topics for me.
Great cooking activities: preparing gratin dauphinois, eaten in the evening with a salad and mousse au chocolat. An opportunity to learn expressions specific to French cuisine.
An unforgettable experience focused on the French language, culture, and everyday life.
Yasmina is very patient, professional, and knows how to adapt to each student’s challenges to maximize progress, noticeable after just one week."
In May, I spent an amazing immersion week at Yasmina’s home.
Each day was enriching, with French classes in the morning and a variety of engaging activities in the afternoon. One of the highlights was a full-day excursion to Talloires, a picturesque village on the shores of Annecy Lake - an unforgettable experience.
I often helped Yasmina prepare meals for lunch and dinner - an opportunity to learn new words and expressions. My favorite dish was her delicious mushroom risotto. For dessert, we made a charlotte aux fraises: simply delicious!
Thanks to many targeted exercises on pronunciation and creative learning methods (using photos, drawings, word and letter games, and videos) I made steady progress. Day by day. I returned to India satisfied with how much I had improved.
Yasmina is a truly energetic woman — always cheerful, kind, and incredibly patient. It was a real pleasure to spend a week in her beautiful house, surrounded by mountains and nature.

I did the immersion in mid-March and it was amazing. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to dive into French culture and improve their vocabulary.
Grenoble is surrounded by nature, and Yasmina and Éric’s home is a peaceful, welcoming place with stunning views. I felt supported the whole time.
The mix of language lessons and daily french life made the experience truly immersive and helped me make real progress.
Yasmina tailored the lessons to my level, focusing on pronunciation and grammar. Highlights included snowshoeing and trying Mont d’Or, a delicious baked cheese.
We also watched a French mini-series together, which was a fun way to learn more naturally.
This experience was a key step forward and the progress I made has been essential to my daily life, especially at work where I use French regularly.
